Pain management has become a new medical specialty and a number of options are available for natural pain relief. Natural and homeopathic back pain remedies can take the place of pain management with medication and back pain therapy can take the form of acupuncture, chiropractic care, or back pain exercises. In addition, there are now doctors and other health care professionals who are pain management specialistsand cam suggest new remedies for back pain that don’t involve drugs. If you’re committed to dealing with your back pain without drugs, you still have a number of options open to you.
You can of course, choose a professional treatment plan that doesn’t include medication. Acupuncture, chiropractics, a TENS unit and physical therapy are all options. Whether or not you have already used these methods, you may now be ready for or committed to natural pain treatment that you can control yourself. Here are a number of options that are open to you:

- Heat and Ice. Applying ice to the affected is frequently recommended right after injury, with heat following a few days later. Some people have success with alternating heat and ice in rapid succession for a minute or two at a time, for two or three repetitions, to improve circulation and relieve pain.
